The wanderer ponders which way to go.
But for what purpose he moves is what he first must know.
For, without purpose, one’s life is left in the dark
And with it, one’s life never lacks a spark.
But purpose is elusive as any who seek it will find
And more often than not, it seems to stumble out from the corner of one’s mind.
So if you’re a wanderer who ponders which way to go,
Have patience by friend.
One the journey called life, take it slow.
Be deliberate and know that all around you is sacred.
Take nothing for granted.
Least of all, how you made it.
For there are people aplenty whom you must thank
Your family, your friends,
Teachers, doctors, police officers, and more.
Remember, remember, without people like these, you,
And the world in which you live,
Would be no more.
The businessman needs his customers,
the poet, his muse,
The writer, his readers,
the actor, his reviews.
So ponder this, wanderer, if it’s purpose you seek:
Don’t look within, look around, at all the people you meet.
For surely, they’ll tell you –
And not with words, but a smile –
What makes them happy
And there,
There,
Is where you’ll find a purpose that’s worth your while.
